Sources and research standards
We aim to be explicit about where information comes from. Electric tractor data is still patchy: manufacturer claims are measured under favourable conditions, and independent UK field data is limited. Rather than presenting estimates as facts, we state assumptions, show the arithmetic and flag uncertainty.
What we rely on
- Published manufacturer specifications, treated as claims rather than results.
- UK government and public-body publications on energy, grants and regulation.
- Peer-reviewed and institutional research on batteries and machinery use.
- Documented operator experience, identified as anecdotal where relevant.
What we avoid
- Unattributed performance figures or invented model comparisons.
- Payback claims that hide their electricity and diesel price assumptions.
- Marketing language presented as independent assessment.
